Description
Summary:The aim of this disseration is twofold: the first aim is to explain why the Asian Bond Market (ABM) initiative represents an attempt by Asian states to exert authority and control over their financial markets, economic sovereignty and regional political power, all of which suffered damage during the Asian financial crisis of 1997-98; the second aim is to address the question of how the creation of the ABM, as a regional financial integration initiative, constitutes a challenge to Asian development and to existing forms of Asian capitalism.
