This article takes Hong Kong gay movies as an independent object of study, observes
its characteristics, and discusses the development of Hong Kong gay movies from
misunderstanding to understanding, and later towards social care. This article compares the
lesbian movies directed by male director and female director, discussing how female
directors deconstruction androcentrism with female eroticism, and how lesbians are restricted
by social norms. This article will also take Leslie Cheung as a case study to observe how a
celebrity affects the cultural representation of homosexual in Hong Kong, as well as the
restrictions on gay movements promoted by celebrities. This article will be analysing the
characteristics and limitations of Hong Kong's homosexual through the connection between
Hong Kong's gay movies and the current situation of homosexual. |
