这篇论文试图分析新加坡华人的认同感和归属感是如何受到社交媒体平台TikTok和Instagram的影响的,尤其关注新加坡华人的年轻一代。
In recent years when social networks are all shifting into the virtual paradigm, there has been increasing concerns as to how social media can influence an individual’s sense of identity. In this digital age where almost every youth has a social media account, everyone is an actor putting on a show in this virtual stage.
The social network of the Chinese community in Singapore used to be multi-dimensional and colourful, however with the influence of changes to the physical environment as well as penetration of social media that lead to the shift from traditional social networks to modern social networks, the social network of Singaporean Chinese today has become single dimensional, and the Chineseness of the Singaporean Chinese’s sense of identity is facing the threat of being eroded completely.
This thesis paper seeks to analyse how the sense of identity among Singaporean Chinese are influenced by social media platforms TikTok and Instagram, particularly focusing on the younger generation of Singaporean Chinese. |
