Multimicrojoule GaSe-based midinfrared optical parametric amplifier with an ultrabroad idler spectrum covering 4.2-16  μm

We report a multimicrojoule, ultrabroadband midinfrared optical parametric amplifier based on a GaSe nonlinear crystal pumped at ∼2  μm.
