Description
Summary:The capitalistic system has been adopted by many countries around the world. It has replaced the feudal system and the monarchy that governed societies in the past. The rise of capitalism has also brought about many benefits and at the same time, lead to the exploitation of many different groups of people in society. These different groups are exploited differently under the oppressive force of capitalism. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community are a one such minority group situated in society who face different forms of exploitation due to the different identities which they possess. Gender, race, and class are examples of identities that may be ascribed to an individual. Capitalism then exerts its influence in varying degrees on different identities which exist in society. As such, my paper is centred around the exploitative nature of capitalism and focuses on how it exploits those who identify as LGBT.
