Description
Summary:Recent wireless Technology is advancing in energy efficient and enables exciting new applications for wireless devices. These applications requires high performance from the network which constraints on bandwidth and energy. Therefore, to be able to overcome these constraints, we need to implement special protocol architecture rather than the traditional layered approach to obtain the best possible performance. Wireless Sensor Network which consist a large number of sensor nodes is discussed in this project. In this Final Year Project, energy efficiency protocol named LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), an architecture for remote microsensor networks has discussed. LEACH is one of the well known energy efficient protocol and form the cluster intelligently and use the distributed approach in the sensor network. Simulation on LEACH protocols with MATLAB software and verification of performance is included in this project. Sensor nodes using in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) are mainly operated by battery and that will limit the available energy. To get optimized protocol with high energy efficiency, solar energy which is available everywhere to use as the alternative energy source on the sensor nodes. The switching circuit has designed that can automatically switch between battery and solar energy to power up the sensor nodes. Hence, by using the alternative energy source on wireless sensor network with the LEACH protocol architecture, the better performance and energy efficient are resulted.
