Description
Summary:With a growing ageing population, the increasing numbers of Dementia patients is becoming a swelling concern for any society across the globe. Dementia is caused by old age and affects an individual’s cognitive and behavioural ability adversely. Patients with this brain disease tend to exhibit symptoms of memory loss, impaired judgement, and frequent mood swings. With the ageing population in Singapore growing, the demand for more caregivers, residential care facilities and higher quality of person-centred care has been rising exponentially. This project aims to leverage the use of technology to alleviate the strain on caregivers and promote efficient management of patients in dementia care centres without compromising person-centred care. As a front-end developer of the PEAR system, the assigned tasks were to continue with the implementation and enhancement of the existing mobile application to ensure serviceability, optimization and usability are achieved. Revamping work on user interfaces and upgrading of application’s functionality were implemented in accordance with the specified requirements to improve consistency. The application was further evaluated, modified, and standardised to ease the development process for all PEAR developers.
