Description
Summary:Dementia is a syndrome that results in the deterioration of one’s mental ability that is not part of normal ageing. The memory, comprehension, learning and judgment of a person is affected. It is one of the major causes of disability in elderly people worldwide and also a growing concern in Singapore. Although there is currently no treatment available to cure dementia, technology innovations could help the patients to better cope with the disease as well as ease the caregiving burden of the healthcare professionals looking after them. To meet the shortage and better coordinate care services provided to these dementia patients, this project aims to develop a Person-Centred Care (PEAR) system used by healthcare professionals at a care centre. This project contains the frontend which is an Android application that can engage the patients with prescribed games as well as perform simplified functionalities and the backend which is a web application. The objective of the project is to maintain and improve the backend of the PEAR system with regards to code and software quality as well as fixing and implementing features of the application. The Backend of the system is undergoing a migration from ASP.NET MVC5 with Entity Framework 6 to ASP.NET Core with Entity Framework Core. There were various concepts such as Repository Pattern, Services etc. applied during the migration. A database revision has also been done during the migration.
