“Singapore’s Green Awakening” is an illustrated feature writing project revolving around Singapore’s long-standing struggle to find balance between preserving its nature areas and ensuring economic progress, while ensuring a high quality of life for its population. This five-story package colourfully narrates Singapore’s intriguing story of sustainable development and its quest to create a ‘City in a Garden’ for its urbanised local population. Each story zooms in on one specific area that has challenged Singapore’s wits and resolve to reach a pragmatic balance between conservation and development for its current population and future generations. Every story is supported by rigorous research and brought to life by quotes from developers, nature lovers, government officials and the man-on-the-street; and expertly illustrated with insightful photographs, maps and diagrams.
