Summary:The aim of this paper is to model the natural voting patterns of citizens and to adapt the model to fit a variety of situations, including the introduction of Quantum-Key-Distribution (QKD) elections. A literature review is done to identify the various methods of modelling voting behaviour, and the models explored are modified to suit the needs of this paper. The models studied are the wasted vote model and the strategic abstention model, with adaptations made including the introduction of imperfect information and voter demographic. With this framework, a potential scenario of a QKD election can be modelled. By modifying the parameters of the model, this model would be able to simulate the election results of multiple countries. Hence, election candidates will be able to better gauge their probability of getting elected. Countries looking into improving voter turnout can also use this model to determine the effectiveness of reducing voter cost. In addition, it may be easier to identify potential election fraud should the results deviate too much from the model.
