Summary: | CubeSat are gaining more popularity in the recent years with its miniature size and
inexpensive costs from manufacturing to launching it into the space. It is made up of
smaller electronics and mechanical devices and operates like a normal satellite. The most
important system in a CubeSat or any satellite is the electrical power system (EPS).
Without it, the other subsystem in the satellite will not be able to operate. Hence, there is
a need to perform tests to ensure that it is functioning properly. In this final year project,
the focus will be on testing and validating the operation of electrical power system. This
involves 3 stages of testing which are solar array simulator (SAS) test with EnduroSat
EPS Type I plus power module to verify EPS functionality, testing of solar array to verify
the solar array functionality and integration testing of solar array with EPS system to
verify the system functionality. Test methodology and results obtained will be cover in
this report too. |
