Contact tracing have since been implemented all over the world, and Singapore is no exception. People in the country are required to scan a SafeEntry QR code whenever they enter or exit any public places (such as companies and commercial buildings). As a result, there were unhappy sentiments among the public who found this process troublesome and inconvenient. TraceTogether is a system used for identifying people who have been in close contact with others who tested positive for Covid-19. However, this has since received backlash for using the data for other purposes besides contact tracing. This project aims to design and develop a convenient and non-infringing system that could be implemented in companies with the use of Raspberry Pi 4 embedded system. The Raspberry Pi 4 will be used with the Pi Camera and a temperature sensor to implement three monitoring features, namely facial recognition, temperature detection, and data logging. The facial recognition feature makes use of Multi-Task Cascaded Convolutional Neural Network (MTCNN) with machine learning capabilities. An audio output is also added to provide users with a verbal confirmation that their data has been recorded in real-time.
