Summary: | Digital contact tracing is a method of contact tracing that relies heavily on tracking systems to identify possible contacts between an infected person and others. The concept of digital contact tracing started becoming prominent during the COVID-19 pandemic, as more organizations developed and deployed mobile applications for contact tracing.
In this project, an application will be developed to improve the existing QR Code with geographical location information (GEO-QR code) contact tracing system, by simplifying and hastening the check-in process. The application uses a QR scanner and a repository filled with web links, giving users a choice between scanning the QR code or visiting the link directly, while protecting users from malicious web pages. Other implemented features help make check-in more convenient, and also help improve the overall user experience for the end-user. This may entice people of all age groups and nationalities to use the application to participate in contact tracing.
The report will focus on the software development process, which includes market research using surveys, product analysis, designing and developing the application and its features, and the testing of the application.
This report will provide direction, guidance and a summary of the problems encountered, with solutions for future developers who might develop a similar application or function. |
