Summary:Dementia is a cognitive disorder that deteriorates a person's ability to think, reason, judge, and perform everyday tasks. With Singapore’s aging population, the number of dementia cases continue to rise. Additionally, reports on increasing numbers of younger patients have been diagnosed with dementia. Thus, dementia is a growing concern for the public health in Singapore. As the number of dementia patients continues to rise, the demand for health services increases. Hence, taking care of dementia patients is no easy feat. Therefore, the PEAR web and mobile application have been developed to aid professionals, caregivers, and guardians to provide better quality of life for dementia patients. The main objectives of this project are to improve on the existing back-end PEAR system which consist of the Web Application developed using ASP.NET MVC 5 Framework, Microsoft Entity Framework v6.0, Microsoft SQL Server Database, Firebase Cloud Messaging and APC Hosting Platform. This includes back-end migration to the ASP.NET CORE 5 Framework, providing more functionalities and creating a better user experience for professionals in the dementia care centre. Upon implementation, the PEAR system is expected to provide all the necessary functionalities for each different user role is the web application. In the future, the PEAR system will be improving continuously and providing more functionalities to both mobile and web-based applications.
