Description
Summary:Singapore is a city state, an urban jungle. In the heart of this city lies Sprout Hub, an urban rejuvenation farm, populated by a community committed to working the land. Zhi Kin, the co-founder of this farm, brings children on a tour of his premises, teaching them and the audience the ins and outs of farming, of skills lost to rapid industrialisation. The farmers of Sprout Hub are committed to a vision of bringing nature closer to people by letting them grow their own vegetables for sharing with others. However, the act of farming is not idyllic, and they face setbacks of poor harvest and inclement weather conditions. A comfortable city dweller might not immediately jump at the opportunity to be a farmer, but what Sprout Hub aims to show its visitors is the effort needed to get food on our plates and restore our connection with the land.
