In this whole project, there is two tasks will be work on. The first task will be study on design of dual active bridge ( DAB) converter. The second task will be realizing the communication between the controller and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system. The controller will be using TMS320F28379D LaunchPad for the simulation. The simulation will be implemented by MATLAB/Simulink. The first part will be start with learning some basic working principle of DC-DC converters, for example buck converter and boost converter. After that, it will be focus on design procedure of dual active bridge (DAB) converter and its power flow based on the semiconductor switching. The DAB model will be implemented in MA TLAB/Simulink and the single-phase shift control is used. The power flow of DAB model is controlled by phase shift angle. Moreover, a close loop control for DAB model will be carry out. There will be voltage control, current control, and voltage current control to study in this project. To realize the control theory, a PI controller is introduced for the DAB converter as PI controller is widely used in high-power automotive system. The second part will be study on CAN communication. Apart from that, it is necessary to familiar on how to program the LaunchPad for this project. For the CAN communication, J1939 protocol will be introduced which is a popular protocol used in heavy-duty vehicle The LaunchPad will need to perform a PIL simulation of DAB converter. This process is to verify the control algorithm work with the DSP board in the real-time development. In addition, two LaunchPads will be used for the communication simulation. One LaunchPad will be as master controller and transmit the messages while the another LaunchPad will be the slave controller which receive the messages. The CAN communication experiment will be implemented by MATLAB/Simulink and the data transmission over the CAN network will be study Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) 2021-05-31T08:21:52Z 2021-05-31T08:21:52Z 2021 Final Year Project (FYP) Tan, P.
