Description
Summary:Water loss by leaking pipe happens globally and countries with underdeveloped infrastructure shows higher percentage of water loss which the loss can be as high as 40% in India, Goa etc. According to research by World Bank, countries will need to spend $60 billion on the sectors over next 10 years [1]. Detecting the leakage along the pipe is important for prevention of more water leakage. The leak of water does not happen within short period of time, but it leaks slowly which is not effective for human to monitor the leak on site daily basis. Recent developments in electronics and Information Technology allows us to live in smart and convenient environment. IOT monitoring system can be used in various field such as small scale used in home to very large scale in manufacturing field. In this project, the objective is to build smart IOT backend platform which system can detect early leakage using WSN & Database management to monitor and identify water leak through the pipe. This report presents methodology which will simulate a scenario how data collected from water-meter sensor will be transferred over Wireless Sensor Network using Zigbee transmitter and receiver, result displayed on the web and determine the leakage.
