Description
Summary:Non-contact body temperature readers (NCBTR) are widely used to detect symptoms of infectious diseases. A NCBTR measures temperature rapidly as well as non-invasively and it is an important tool for countries trying to contain viral outbreaks. The objective of this final year project is to understand the mechanics of a NCBTR and to build a prototype that can measure and display temperature readings using Arduino and Android application (app). The project also includes research to understand the benefits and limitations of NCBTR. This report begins with an overview on the importance of measuring temperature and expands on the benefits and limitations of the NCBTR. This report will then explain the potential improvements for NCBTR. This report will document the design and development of the temperature reader. This project serves as a guide for future works that require building a prototype NCBTR for further modification and experimentation.
