谈晚明〈白娘子永镇雷峰塔〉中白娘子的蛇女形象 = An investigation of the “Snakewoman” character in the late Ming popular fiction

“蛇女故事”是中国志怪小说关于“精怪故事”最常见的主题之一。这主题中的蛇女形象经历历代文人的润色使其形象变得愈来愈鲜明，其中在晚明时期更以冯梦龙的〈白娘子永镇雷峰塔〉成了定型之作。本论文将以〈白娘子永镇雷峰塔〉中白娘子的蛇女形象为研究对象，探讨其演变的原因与目的。笔者将会以冯梦龙的写作宗旨和时代背景为依据，讨论晚明白娘子蛇女形象的各种性格特征。“The Story of Snakewoman” is one of the most popular themes in the “Monster Story Series” in the Popular Fiction during the Ming Dynasty. Having undergone several generations of refinement and modification by the scholars, the characteristics of the “snakewoman” have also become increasingly distinct and this is especially so in “Bai Niang Zi Yong Zhen Lei Feng Ta” authored by Feng Meng Long during the late Ming period. The research of snakewoman in this thesis is based on the characteristics defined by “Bai Niang Zi Yong Zhen Lei Feng Ta”. This thesis investigate the reasons and purposes of the transformation of the snakewoman’s characteristics. Based on Feng Meng Long’s writing objectives and historical background, I will discuss the various characteristics of the snakewoman in different transformation stages in the Popular Fiction written during the late Ming period.
