进入 1980 年代以后，东南亚地区的政治形势日趋缓和，各国相继与中国恢复建交。而中国在 1978 年推行改革开放以来，也为华商提供良好的投资环境与机会，促进了中国与东南亚华人社会的关系。因此近年来，东南亚华商投资中国的情形，已成为中国及东南亚学界的关注热点。在中国学界，有关东南亚华人的研究课题，一般被纳入“华侨华人”的研究范畴，难免受到“中国中心”论述视角的影响。因此，本文试图重构马来西亚的历史发展脉络，以在地华人社会为主体，探讨马来西亚华人社会与中国的关系。本论文的研究焦点将放在华人离散群体的经济活动主体——华商，并以马来西亚著名华商、海鸥集团董事经理陈凯希为主要研究与分析对象。陈凯希不仅具特殊的政治经历，在马中政治、经济、文化、关系发展中更是极重要的推手。所以本文欲从在地“侨乡情感”概念的视角，分析侨乡在陈凯希经济投资行为中所产生的作用，进而探索马来西亚华商的“侨乡情感”是否已转化为不同形式的文化纽带。这些文化纽带不但成为华裔的文化资本，也为他们带来经济效益。此外，这些纽带亦是华人社会维系与中国关系的方式。Moving into 1980s, the political atmosphere in South East Asia region was getting more stable, this lead to South East Asia countries resuming diplomatic relations with China. The Open Door Policy of China further provided the South East Asia Chinese Businessman with a good environment and opportunities for investments. Recent years, the phenomenon shown that South East Asia Chinese Businessman has significant amount of investments in China became a popular topic in China and South East Asia academic. In China academic, Overseas Chinese Studies mostly focus on “China-centered Approach”. The thesis attempts to examine the relationship between Malaysia Chinese Community and China in Malaysia. My research analyzes will focus on Malaysia Chinese businessman Mr. Tan Kai Hee who has abundant experiences and played an important role in developing relationships between China and Malaysia in several areas such like politic, economic market and culture. Most importantly, Malaysia Chinese businessman could be seem as a main subject in Chinese Diaspora Community. Thus, this thesis is tried to analyze the influences of “Qiaoxiang Ties”on Tan Kai Hee’s investment behaviour. Besides, the thesis will discuss on various types of “Culture ties” which has been transformed from Qiaoxiang ties and brought large amount of economic benefits to the Chinese businessman. Furthermore, those culture ties became the concrete ties in retaining the relationships between Malaysia Chinese community and China.
