This paper will discuss some of the non-commercial-instrumental activities that take place amidst the profit making institution of convenience stores and how it might shed light on the society of today through a qualitative study on two convenience stores. Taking a Simmelian perspective into account, this paper serves to also contribute to the sociological realm by noting the forms of interaction that take place within such institutions while using Weberian typology in the organization of the data.
