This change in environment has affected the known deterioration and life span of facade materials. Façade being the external coating of any building is expected to be greatly affected by these changes. The aim of this paper is to study the rise in temperature and methods to quantify these changes on façade materials. Loadings on any building can be easily considered through various design codes, however, the effects of climate are difficult to incorporated due to its complex nature. Singapore has been experiencing a rising trend of failing and cracking of façade material and efforts is being put in place to prevent such. While, façade do not affect the structural integrity of a building, it may pose risk to cost and public safety. Hence, it is vital to study the change and to incorporate greater emphasis during product testing.While climate change involves numerous factors, this project shall focus on the effect of temperature. This study is conducted in Singapore which has constant sunshine due to its proximity to the equator. This study will also look at the general change in conditions of façade materials through accerlated weathering process and discussion on incorporating it into common use. This study focuses on the external plastering concrete and metal bolts and nuts after undergoing accelerated weathering. A clear correlation is shown expressing a change in weather conditions and the quicker rate of material degradation.
