With the continuous improvement of electric vehicle technology, more devices are designed with higher efficiency and additional functions. All current electric vehicles used batteries as storage to store energy. With a good battery management system, energy can be used more efficiently. This can also improve the performance and reliability of the system. The DC/DC buck-boost converter is used in the battery management system which charging and discharging the battery. It works in two modes: buck mode (buck), and boost mode (boost). For the buck mode is charging the battery from a source, another is discharging the battery to provide the energy to the load. Two GaN FET power switching are used in buck-boost converter with the half-bridge configuration to operate buck and boost mode. A control circuit was designed for this project. This report will introduce the creation of the control circuit. Simulations and experiments will be performed to verify the results.
