With this transition, it calls for a need for more network engineers. Engineering in general is facing a huge issue whereby students are either dropping or switching out of their courses. This could be due to many reasons, for example, lack of interest, pressure from family members, etc. Almost half that makes it through choose not to continue engineering after graduation. This project presents the different networking workshops that are designed for the outreach program. The main target audience for the outreach are, Junior College, Polytechnic and secondary school students, students with little to no networking knowledge. With this outreach, students will be exposed to the fundamental knowledge of computer networking. This will allow them to know if computer networking is suited for them and at the same time bring awareness to what Nanyang Technological University Engineering have for them. Three different workshops are designed for the respective audience based on their education environment. Each workshop will consist of an introduction, briefing, lab simulation and ending off with a Q&A should they have any queries on the lab or computer networking.
