Measurement of mucociliary clearance in respiratory airway
In this final year project paper, the basic principles and the applications of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) are illustrated. The clinical use is introduced as well. The background knowledge of relative medical field and image processing techniques are shown. At last, the flow velocity is calcu...

At last, the flow velocity is calculated and illustrated in an image and a matric view. There are two main methods of realizing the goals of calculating and interpreting the flow velocity. The first one is to employ image pre-processing methods in MATLAB for the mucus cross-sectional images to get a better imaging quality. The second one is to develop algorithm in Python to calculate the 2-dimensional velocity of the mucus flow.
