Description
Summary:Designing a beam involves a trial and error in determining the supports available, recognizing the loads to be withstand by the beam, performing analysis and comparing stresses to the structural limits of the mechanical properties of the beam until all criteria is satisfied. In this project, the author aims to develop a software which performs beam analysis for a given beam problem. In beam analysis, the software will first determine the shear forces and bending moments along the given beam. The Shear Force Diagram (SFD) and Bending Moment Diagram (BMD) will then be plotted on a graph. The Normal Stress (NS) is also plotted on a graph with its initial point of interest being the location of maximum bending moment. This software aims to aid the study the knowledge of solving given beam problems. With the development of this software, it allows the users to solve problems and understand how different loading conditions exerted on the beam influence the results of the beams through the two diagrams generated by the software. The software developed is able to solve statically determinate and statically indeterminate with different problems complexity.
