Safety has always been the number one priority to be considered in Singapore. Shortage of labour and the continuous rising costs, companies facing difficulties in recruiting security officers. The service robot works in such a way that can be both semi-autonomous and fully autonomous. It can achieve designated area patrolling, detection of suspicious activities and articles, video monitoring and recording, a siren alarm and remote control. Service robots will replace security officers to perform longer working hours, it also saves workforce and management costs, avoids other safety hazards associated with a human patrol that could bring. The emergence of service robots can gradually replace simple and tedious security work.
