Description
Summary:There are many interesting research and studies done on indoor air quality (IAQ), however there is a lack of information regarding how IAQ can affect the performance of everyone’s daily activities. Be it working at offices or at home, pollutants in the air may potentially influence daily performance of an individual or even worse, their health. Hence, the objective of this report is to study a particular pollutant know as particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and if it affects the daily performance of an individual. To determine if PM2.5 affects someone, the first phase of the project would be to collect air samples from different offices and have the occupants complete a survey. After which, air purifiers (AP) will be placed into the respective offices and left to run for a month before collecting air samples again. At the end of the sampling, occupants will then be asked to complete the same survey again to determine if the difference in air quality has any effect on their individual daily performances and health satisfaction. In conclusion, this project aims to provide a conclusive answer regarding pollutants affecting an individual daily performance through the analysis of data collected.
