Diabetes is a metabolic disease that causes high blood sugar and requires regular medical care. Untreated diabetes can lead to various severe complications such as heart disease, neuropathy, and hearing loss. A frequent symptom of diabetes is oedema, which is the swelling of certain body parts due to water retention. An aneurysm is the weakening of an artery wall that creates a bulge of the artery. While majority of aneurysms are asymptomatic and are benign, some can rupture, leading fatal internal bleeding at their most severe stage. Hence, early detection can help to prevent such severe health complications. While there are several available methods to help detect these health abnormalities, these methods are very inconvenient and often require the aid of expensive and technical equipment. In recent years, the use of infrared thermography has proliferated in the medical world. Infrared thermography is a non-intrusive, quick way of measuring heat in the form of infrared radiation and converting it to an image, which is also known as a thermogram. Since all objects above absolute zero gives off thermal infrared radiation, thermal imagers can easily identify and display these infrared wavelengths even in the absence of ambient light. Eulerian Video Magnification (EVM) is an image processing technique that magnifies any subtle movement on video. This study aims to analyse the application of Eulerian Video magnification on infrared thermography and the possibility of developing a non- intrusive way of detecting such health abnormalities.
