“E-Government” refers to the use by government agencies of information technologies (such as Wide Area Networks, the Internet, and mobile computing) that have the ability to transform relations with citizens, businesses, and other arms of government [The World Bank, 2009]. Today, governments around the world are riding on this prevailing trend of e-Government to fundamentally change the way they operate externally and internally. Besides applying the use of information and communication technology (ICT), governments need an approach to measure how well they perform and identify factors that might affect their performance in achieving e-Government maturity. This research aims to study how Gross Domestic Product (GDP), human capital, ICT infrastructure and the quality of governance have an impact on governments‟ ability to obtain varying levels of e-Government maturity. It also studies, to what extend, these factors have an influence on e-Government maturity using regression analysis. The results from this research serve to provide some insights on how governments can go about developing their e-Government maturity.
