Description
Summary:Corporate social responsibility (CSR) today is beginning to find aspiration in the unexpected areas. Companies such as the Essilor group (Essilor) are viewing the society needs as opportunities to develop new ideas and to demonstrate business technologies. Further, companies target to create a sustainable competitive advantage. In the study of Essilor’s CSR projects, the report will purport how the company has developed its CSR through the identification of social issues which can value-add to the company. The issues can be identified as generic, value-chain impact or competitive context social issues. More importantly, the comparison of the India and China CSR projects will identify the difference in the choice of business framework and the beneficiaries of the projects- economy and people.
