Description
Summary:As the world becomes more connected through the advancement of technology and the internet, modern teaching and learning methods are no longer limited to the four walls of the classrooms. Similarly, instead of confining students in a physical examination hall, online assessments have become the modern way of assessing students. Many online assessments platforms have emerged in the market over the years to cater to such needs; after all, online assessments are part of effective learning. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, it forced many institutions worldwide to transition to online platforms in order to keep the education system alive while ensuring the educators' and students' safety. This has caused a sudden high demand for suitable online assessment platforms. Said platform should be able to hold an online examination and automate the evaluation of tests, hence reducing the educators’ workload. While there are many varieties of online assessment platforms in the market, many of them are incapable of assessing open-style questions where students can freely type their answers; those still require human intervention for marking. This project is a continuation of past year students’ progress. It aims to develop an automated assessment system that can automatically mark students’ answers and award the respective score the answer deserves. The answer could be in the form of a Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ), mathematical equation and programming code. The system could also provide feedback at the end of the test to summarize the students’ results.
