Summary: | The theremin is an electromagnetic musical instrument that allows the users to play music with their hands without touching the instrument, the terpsitone was designed to achieve the same purpose but instead with the whole body. Terpsitone, named after Greek Goddess Terpsichore,
was designed for the user to produce music while dancing. However, due to the limitations of technology and the difficulty to control the quality of sound produced, the terpsitone was never really made probable. To this date, only one of the original prototypes is still known to exist.
This project makes use of the body tracking device Kinect v2 to simulate a digital terpsitone,
allowing the user to produce music with a high degree of freedom. |
