Summary: | During the COVID-19 outbreak, online food delivery platforms has helped consumers
gain access to prepared meals and enabled food providers to keep operating. However, these
platforms have also caused drawbacks which will affect the society in the future.
This project aims to introduce a new online food delivery concept that will help to
promote a healthier lifestyle and promoting the hawker culture in Singapore. Blockchain
technology is used in a wide range of applications in a variety of industries, and it is likely
that its potential has yet been discovered. Hence, this project will also incorporate the
applications offered by the blockchain technology.
Blockchain is a method of storing data that makes it difficult or impossible to alter,
hack, or cheat it. A blockchain is a digital ledger of transactions that is distributed across its
network of computer systems. Each block on the chain contains information of transactions,
and if a new transaction occurs, a record of that transaction is added to the ledger of each
participant. This decentralized database that is administered by various people is also known
as the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). |
