本论文的研究对象是 1975 到 1980 年间，南洋大学的学生团体南洋—南洋大学诗社（简称南大诗社）。南大诗社是由当时热爱文学创作的南大生于 1975 年所创办的一个文学团体。诗社的成员以写现代诗为创作主流，并提倡文学创作的创新与多元性。研究范围主要有：一、南大诗社的创办过程，二、南大诗社的组织性质与诗风，三、南大诗社所举办的各类文艺活动，四、诗社名下的刊物，五、南洋大学于 1980 年关闭后，南大诗社的延续。论文会把有关南大诗社的研究置于两个脉络来考量：一、60 年代初到 70 年代新加坡现代主义文学思潮，二、南洋大学于 70 年代中、末期所面临的改制与改革，以至最后的关闭。The object of study of this thesis is The Nanyang University Poetry Society (1975-1980), from the former Nantah University. The Poetry Society is a student literary group founded by literature lovers in 1975. Members of the Society engage in the composition of modern poetry, and also advocate creativity and diversity in literature works. The scope of study is: the founding of the Society, the nature and organisation of the Society, cultural activities organised by the Society, poetry publications, and the continuity of the society after the closure of Nantah University in 1980. Two threads of consideration will be undertaken in the study of the Society: the modernist literature of Singapore from the early 60’s to 70’s, and the restructuring and reforming of Nantah University from the mid 70’s to late 70’s, as well as the final closure of the university.
