In this scenario, signal experiences through different paths separately to reach the destination, whose amplitude, phase and frequency would change randomly. When being added up, path components can strengthen or weaken each other, leading to the uncertain characteristic of the received signal. However, there stand several canonical models to describe the signal envelope undergoing the fading, such as the Rayleigh distribution. In the real application, fading sometimes can be worse than the known models, thus one has proposed a general analytical distribution named two-wave with diffuse power (TWDP) to pertinently express the localarea fading traits. In the context of this kind of fading channel, we research into the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of some digital bandpass modulation schemes, which mainly touches on some binary one-dimension modulations and the quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). Apart from the onefold technique to improve transmission efficiency, the space diversity combining is utilized, such as maximum ratio combining (MRC), to mitigate the impacts of fading at the receiver side. Generally, the report investigates the primary properties of the TWDP fading and how they influence the performance of wireless systems.
