Summary:This report aims to cover the topic on the use of Industry 4.0 Inspection techniques for the Fast-Moving Consumable Goods (herein referred to as “FMCG”) Industry. As the world was introduced to the next generation of manufacturing termed Industry 4.0 in 2011, the global manufacturing industry have since been exploring and expanding the benefits of the technology and use cases in different sub-industries. As many FMCG companies are aware of the growing requirement to revolutionise their manufacturing lines to keep a competitive edge in the market, companies have progressively set up their own in-house divisions dedicated to using new-age technologies to transform and drive the organization towards implementation of Industry 4.0 in several areas of business. However, many companies lack the direction and clarity on what solutions are available to start their journey for digital excellence and implementation. Hence, this report will focus on discussing how industry 4.0 inspection techniques can be applied within FMCG production lines, as well as cover the potential gaps and challenges when implementing the solutions
