Description
Summary:This project involved the investigation of NiTi’s shape memory capabilities when applied externally to a cracked beam sample. Since it was not feasible to obtain life-size or actual concrete beams, samples had to be scaled down such that the entire experiment could be carried out in the laboratories. The main objective of this project is to experimentally produce a simulated concrete beam sample which is susceptible to external flexure forces until cracks are formed. Evaluation will then be done on NiTi wire to see its shape restoring abilities.
