Description
Summary:Compared with ordinary materials in nature, metamaterial have attracted much attention because of its unique properties, in recent years, the use of metamaterials to achieve negative refraction has been a popular topic of research. To solve the high heat loss problem of conventional metal wire-SRR resonant cavity arrays, metamaterials based on all-dielectric materials are born, which can solve the metal heat dissipation problem and simplify the internal structure of the metamaterial. In this paper, based on the previous research, we further study the principle of negative refraction using metamaterials based on all-dielectric materials. We introduce the broad application value of all-dielectric metamaterials in detail and design a resonant cavity array with a triangular profile. After determining the internal resonant cavity array parameters, we use Mathematica to calculate the dielectric constant and permeability of the whole material at different frequencies and find the frequency interval in which negative dielectric constant and permeability can be achieved simultaneously, and then we conducted simulation experiments using Comsol for the frequency points in this frequency interval. By observing the electromagnetic field distribution after the simulation, we finally proved that the metamaterial based on an array of all-dielectric cylindrical resonant cavities could achieve negative refraction and obtained the frequency point with the best negative refraction performance.
