Despite technological advancement in digital photography, my medium of choice is the large format field camera on 4 by 5 transparencies, one of photography’s earliest mechanisms. Over the span of the 12 months, labour has been key in the image making process: the creation of a single image with this camera involves hours of carrying around the notoriously heavy equipment, following a series of meticulous metering and calculations.
