Fabrication of high-quality transparent ceramic powders with novel co-precipitation method

High-quality yttria has been successfully synthesised with chloride derived salt solution and ammonium hydrogen carbonate precipitant. The synthesised powder has a near-spherical morphology and an average diameter of 61.5nm. Based on FE-SEM. From FTIR and XRD analysis, synthesised yttria was concl...

According to FWHM, some particles have small particles attached to it after calcination. But the structure should not have an impact on sintering quality. Current process only achieved a 17% yield which is caused by excessive HCl added when preparing the salt solution.
