Description
Summary:Do you still recall the first time you came to the NTU campus? I did. The feeling of being lost, in my perspiration-soaked t-shirt, was not a pleasant experience especially in our hot & humid climate. Some of us may not have felt the same, but I am sure that we are all be able to empathize with how most new visitors to NTU would have felt. Of course, there are no lack of online resources such as the Internal Campus Shuttle Bus, Car Park Zone & Charges and NTU Maps that one can use for their reference. However, these navigation resources are often more cumbersome than convenient for most people to use. That is quite understandable as those were probably made for the students, Professors, university administrators etc. and not quite so much for new visitors. To serve this segment of interest, we dive into the project by considering important user personas to undercover a sweet spot between their goals and the level of information that they need to navigate seamlessly around the NTU campus – nothing more, nothing less. We know that people start feeling lost when they can no longer identify their location with respect to the things around them (i.e. map-to-ground reference is lost). Therefore, at the core of our app, we bring in waypoints, with pictures included, so that new visitors to NTU will never have to feel lost again when getting from point A to point B.
