Summary:Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning that is severe enough to interfere with daily life. It is prevalent among older people, and currently there are more than 55 million people living with dementia worldwide, with nearly 10 million new cases every year. For an aging population like Singapore, this trend is increasingly worrying as dementia is a cognitive ability impairment that cannot be alleviated or reversed, but instead, its symptoms can be managed. One way of managing the symptoms of dementia is through a person-centred care model, where care teams work together to develop and provide a comprehensive, specific care plan involving mental health and social needs for each individual. However, this proves to be a challenge as there exists multiple patients within a care centre with different mental and physical needs. Hence, the Person-Centred Care Application (PEAR) was created to aid caregivers in logging down the mental and physical needs of each dementia patient, and providing them with the necessary information that they require about their patients. The objective of this project is to maintain and improve the existing PEAR mobile application. As a front-end developer, works include enhancing user-interface, ensuring functionality of the mobile application, and testing user interface elements of the mobile application. Throughout the course of the project, documentations and test cases are developed to ensure that the PEAR mobile application is to work as designed. At the end of the project, an improved version of the current PEAR mobile application can be delivered.
