Description
Summary:The construction industry has seen rapid digitalization in the last 10 years. New technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), drone surveillance, Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) etc. have been actively promoted. However, its development pales in comparison to other industries of focus such as Finance and Information Technology. The objective of the research is to study and compare the efficiency of integrating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology into PPVC monitoring and logistical management. We conducted surveys with project engineers, general workers, and the project manager on site through face-to-face interviews. Through the survey results we observed and drew conclusions. By comparing data derived from these surveys and analysis, we hope to improve efficiency for said processes in future projects. Additionally, development has been carried out for a workflow, standard operating procedures, and a system for aiding project management related matters. From the Project Manager level to that of a Foreman, physical and time-wasting processes have been eliminated to ensure more resources could be allocated to other facets of the project.
