The program was designed using MATLAB, and is able to gather information such as vehicle count, vehicle speed, classification of vehicles and overall road usage. These results were obtained after processing of the video footages using various Image Segmentation and Image Enhancement techniques. An Automatic Incident Detection system was also built to alert users of any unusual traffic activity detected. The results obtained were investigated and will be discussed in this report to identify the ones which yielded the best performance.
