Description
Summary:When deformation occurs and under the right stimulus, the Shape Memory Hybrid (SMH) recovers back to its original shape. This occurrence is known as Shape Memory Effect. This report focuses on the control of surface patterning such as wrinkles by shape memory effects of Hydrogel/Polyethylene glycol (HG/PEG) hybrid via wetting/drying. A variety of hydrogels and different weight percentages of PEG were used during this project. Surface scanning of surface patterns was done by Taylor Hobson Talyscan 150 surface scanning machine and the Keyence machine. These machines illustrate the 3D profiles of the samples clearly and help in the study of the surface patterns formed.
