Description
Summary:As Singapore continues to advance, a stable and reliable power grid system is vital for its economic development. Cable failure analysis is one of the most important area of studies as it is an key component of power system due to its role in transmission and distribution network. There are many different types of failure mode underground cable might experience. However, due to the lack of access and visual inspection, many times cables would have already failed and caused disruption to power supply without any warning. Hence. as technology advanced, local power companies have been using artificial intelligence (AI) to change their approach from preventive maintenances to predictive maintenances. This purpose of this project is the study the different types of cable failure mode and covariates that could affect the lifespan of the cable by using historical available data. In this project, weibull model will be implemented to analysis and predict the probability of failure for power system cable. This report will also explore methods that could predict the remaining useful life of power system cables and future improvement will be discussion towards the end of this report.
