Summary:In many optical distance measuring applications where great accuracy is required, transimpedance amplifiers (TIA) are commonly utilized for front-end signal conditioning. A TIA is a sensitive and fast current measurement device that converts a generally weak input current signal to a significant output voltage. The project focuses on the research on transimpedance amplifier applications and performances using hardware and software. The experiments and testing results, comparison of hardware and software simulation results, and optimization are the three main topics that will be discussed in this paper. The performance of the MAX40658 transimpedance amplifiers is evaluated in the experiment and results section. Furthermore, the waveform and results achieved during the project will be highlighted in the hardware and software comparison. The performance of the designed circuit will be analyzed by using the LTspice simulator. LTspice is simulation software that allows users to test and observe the circuit before implementing a prototype on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The PCB layout will be then designed through the Altium Designer software.
