The work is an exploration of the connection between our conscious and unconscious states through a set of visuals and sounds, with their respective haptic reactions. The work is split into 2 aspects: The process and concept of entering an unconscious state, which is the main narrative of the work, and the dissonance between perceiving your unconscious state versus being unable to physically interact with it, which is the main interaction. The space consists of 5 cushions on a carpeted floor, below a ceiling projection that shows the visuals of going into an unconscious state. The cushions are installed with vibration motor modules, which vibrate at a different pattern whenever the visual changes. The visuals and soundtrack both establish the atmosphere of the type of dreamscape that I wanted to convey to the audience, some calming, and some more unnerving.
