Summary: | A maze, synonymous with the labyrinth, is often viewed as a mysterious place filled with unknowns. The first impression of a maze for many of us is usually confusion and fear. With a long history dating as far back as the prehistoric period, has maze always been a place confusing people and thereby inducing fear in them? There seems to be more behind what it appears to offer us on a superficial level. A single-path maze provides emotional relief for people who trust the path, taking one step forward at a time, with a spiritual symbolism in the medieval period.
This project seeks to bridge maze and waffle by using the seek for relief as an anchor. This project intends to present an alternative perspective of experiencing mazes as a form of relief by interweaving them together, based on their commonalities in tangible and intangible transformations. |
